Calling all big thinkers ages 6 to 18. Your community wants to see your ideas!
The “What If?” Challenge is a creative contest that invites young people to dream up bold solutions to real-world questions, then share them with the community. This year, it’s all about how we move.
What if you could redesign how people get around your community? Flying buses? Bike paths that glow? A train that connects every neighborhood? This year’s “What If?” Challenge invites young people across South Florida to reimagine transportation and mobility, then bring their boldest ideas to life.
There are no wrong answers here. Just your imagination and the question:
“What if you could redesign how people get around your community? What would you create to make it easier, faster, or bring people closer together?”
- It’s free. Everyone ages 6 to 18 in South Florida can join, there’s no cost to enter.
- It’s easy. Bring an idea, big or small, and we’ll guide you through the rest.
- It’s yours. Solve a problem you see every day, your way.
Dream up your idea, then show us how it works. From colorful sketches and collages to digital renderings, models, or videos, there’s no single right way to bring your vision to life. Dream without limits, then share what a community that moves better looks like to you.
Three winners will be chosen, one from each grade group (K-2, 3-8, 9-12), and each will receive:
- A Seat on The Center’s 2027 Junior Creative Directors Board for winners ages 10 and up.
- A Brightline Family Pass for a Family of 4
- A Family Movie Night Package
- A School Recognition Experience
- A $50 Gift Card
As the greatest creatives in our community, young people see possibilities the rest of us miss. The “What If?” Challenge shows kids that their ideas hold real value, gives them the confidence to present them, and offers the chance to see their vision come to life.
This program is made possible by the generosity of our community partners. Special thanks to GL Homes for their sponsorship, and to our Curiosity Circle for their ongoing support of The Center’s annual programming.
