Ann Morrow Johnson

​​Ann Morrow Johnson leads the Global Experiential Architecture & Design Practice for Gensler. Drawing on decades of industry experience across theater, the cultural and institutional sectors, and most recently as Global Head of Creative Development for Walt Disney Imagineering, she blends storytelling with design thinking to create emotionally resonant places and experiences. She leads teams to blend meaningful design, worldbuilding, and placemaking expertise with strategic and operational knowledge to create opportunities that matter. 

At Disney, Ann Morrow creatively and strategically led over 60 major projects in the United States, Europe, and Asia, and oversaw the Disneyland Resort portfolio. As head of the Creative Development Studio she was responsible for development of any and all new guest facing experiences including resorts, live performance shows and venues, RD&E, hotels/hospitality, restaurants, exhibits, rides, attractions, walk through and interactive experiences for Disney globally.

She has consulted with industry leaders including National Geographic, the Royal Shakespeare Company, the Association for Cultural Enterprises, and others. Her work as a futurist in the emerging VR/AR/mixed reality space with ILMxLAB, a community creator founding the Museum of Quarantine during the COVID-19 lockdown, and a designer on everything from the George W. Bush Presidential Library to the Harvard Business School center bring her a unique perspective at the intersection of

technology, community vibrancy, and institutional knowledge.

XLIST named Ann Morrow one of the 100 Most Creative Visionaries in Experiential in 2023. She has received many awards and honors for her work in the design field, is a published writer and artist, has been featured for her work in numerous publications including Forbes, The New Yorker, The Los Angeles Times, etc. and is a frequent keynote speaker at cultural, design, and experiential events.
